Strange noises in the woods
It was a warm summer night. A group of teenagers were camping and telling each other spooky stories. \(1\). <...>
Suddenly, they heard loud sounds from the woods. \(2\). <...> One of the girls said it could be a bear or a wolf. They were scared but stayed where they were, hoping the noises would stop. After a few minutes, they started to relax when nothing happened.
But then they heard a loud growl. They were so scared that they ran away. When they stopped running, they realized that they were lost. They tried to find their campsite, but they didn't recognise any of the paths.
One of the teenagers was a scout, and he remembered that they could use the North Star to find their way. \(3\). <...>
After about half an hour, they found their campsite. They heard the growl again, but this time, it sounded like a person. When they got to the campsite, they saw a man. \(4\). <...>
It turned out that the man was a hiker who had got lost. He was making the loud noises to scare away any wild animals, not people. They all laughed.
