14. Reading. An email from Wales

Dear friend,

 

Thanks for your message! I’m happy to hear that you’re going to visit Wales. It is a wonderful country with beautiful nature and kind people! I have lived in Cardiff my whole life, and I just love it! I believe you’d love Cardiff too. It’s the largest city in Wales, and it’s located in the south of the country.

 

First, I would recommend taking a sightseeing tour with a professional guide, as the history of the country is rich.

 

I advise you to start with Cardiff Castle that is more than \(1000\) years old. Wales is known for its ancient castles! If you are interested in arts and history, you should visit the National Museum. It’s free for visitors and it’s absolutely fantastic!

In the evening, I suggest going to Cardiff Bay and enjoy the sunset there. It’s very popular among tourists thanks to its restaurants, bars and shops. I’m just crazy about its views!
City Hall is a must-see attraction too. The building is old and magnificent, with a high clock tower and beautiful gardens. People can have conferences, weddings and excursions there. I believe, you’d love it!

 

By the way, the city holds the Hub Festival of music every August. There are more than \(150\) musicians and bands of different genres that perform around the city the whole weekend. Children under \(18\) can also come to the festival. You can book a ticket on their official website. Personally, I hope I’ll visit some concerts this year!
